The inspiration for "Here and Now" was something most of us struggle with—worry.

We worry about what we should have done differently, what we are facing today, and what might happen tomorrow. In doing so, we can become so consumed by the past and the future that we overlook the life taking place right in front of us.

Matthew 6:34 offers a simple but powerful reminder: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Scripture does not promise that our days will be free from difficulty. Instead, Jesus reminds us not to carry tomorrow’s burdens before tomorrow arrives. We are called to trust God with what has passed, what lies ahead, and to live faithfully in the day we have been given.

"Here and Now" is a reminder to loosen our grip on yesterday, resist borrowing worry from tomorrow, and recognize that Jesus is with us here and now.

LYRICS

I have days when worry weighs on me,

Wondering what tomorrow may bring,

When I’m searching for answers I just cannot find,

Where do I turn for the peace I need inside?

Jesus says don’t worry about tomorrow today,

Tomorrow has worries of its own, so I’ll trust Him to lead the way.

His plans give me hope for whatever may be,

So I’ll trust Him with what I cannot see.

Here and now, Jesus is with me,

Here and now, His grace is enough,

Here and now, I will trust Him,

Here and now, He is enough.

I won’t carry tomorrow’s worries,

Or let yesterday stand in my way,

Here and now, Jesus is with me,

And that is enough for now.

Each new day is the oldest I’ve been,

And the youngest I’ll ever be,

So I’ll thank Him for every day He gives to me,

And trust Him with what tomorrow may be.

Here and now, Jesus is with me,

Here and now, His grace is enough,

Here and now, I will trust Him,

Here and now, He is enough.

I’m walking one day at a time with Jesus,

One step, one breath, one day,

I don’t need to know what tomorrow may bring,

I’ll trust Him to lead the way.

Yesterday is gone,

Tomorrow is on its way,

I don’t need tomorrow’s answers,

I only need Him today.

One step, one breath, one moment,

I’ll leave tomorrow in His care,

And when tomorrow becomes today,

I know He will meet me there.

Here and now, Jesus is with me,

Here and now, His grace is enough,

Here and now, I will trust Him,

Here and now, He is enough.

No matter what tomorrow may bring,

And when tomorrow becomes today,

I’ll still be walking with Him knowing,

He is here with me now.
