"Love One Another" was inspired by a sermon of the same name preached by Dr. David Swanson, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Country Fox Music asked Dr. Swanson to share one of his favorite sermons so that its message could be brought to life through song.
St. Teresa of Ávila expressed the heart of that message simply: “We are not here for ourselves.” The song reminds us that serving others begins with loving others. In times when hope seems almost nonexistent, reaching out to lift another person can become a powerful expression of God’s grace.
Christ calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Accepting that responsibility means looking beyond our own needs, caring for those around us, and doing what we can to make certain that no one is left behind.
"Love One Another" is a reminder that faith is not only something we believe—it is something we are called to live.
LYRICS
Love… one another
Love… one another
As He has loved us
We will love one another
We were made for more than standing alone
More than chasing hearts that feel like stone
In a world that's searching, lost and afraid
We were called to love, not just be saved
Every heart is longing just to belong
Looking for a place where love is strong
Not just words we say as people pass by
But a love that lives… a love that won't die
We are one in Christ, we are not alone
Bound together, now we are His own
Filled with mercy, grace we've come to see
Now His love is flowing through you and me
Love one another… just as He said
Lift up your brother… be Spirit-led
Not just in word… but all that you do
Let the love of Jesus… shine through you
Love one another… heart, soul, and mind
Leave no one broken… no one behind
We are His body… called to be
A light in the darkness… for all to see
Walk in a manner worthy of grace
See every soul as His image, His face
When we are weak, His strength remains
Love is the power that breaks every chain
When we are hurting, when we feel torn
Love is the place where hope is reborn
In every trial, in every tear
God draws us closer, He meets us here
Comforted by His unfailing love
Guided by His Spirit from above
With tender hearts, compassion we bring
Living the truth of our risen King
Love one another… just as He said
Lift up your brother… be Spirit-led
Not just in word… but all that you do
Let the love of Jesus… shine through you
Love one another… heart, soul, and mind
Leave no one broken… no one behind
We are His body… called to be
A light in the darkness… for all to see
In every sorrow
In every pain
Love will remain
When we are weary
When hope feels gone
Love carries on
Love… one another
Love… one another
Love one another… just as He said
Lift up your brother… be Spirit-led
Not just in word… but all that you do
Let the love of Jesus… shine through you
Love one another… heart, soul, and mind
Leave no one broken… no one behind
We are His body… called to be
A light in the darkness… for all to see
Conduct yourselves… worthy of the gospel
Love one another… as He has loved you
Amen
