"Three Amigos and a Flame" was written to memorialize the beginning of CFM and the friendship of three men who spent a few days together at a farm in Wray, Georgia. Surrounded by the South Georgia outdoors, they shared an appreciation for the land, good conversation, and, most importantly, each other’s friendship.
At the center of those evenings was a fire pit with a story of its own. Made in Fitzgerald GA from the round disc bottoms of an old plow found abandoned in a field, it had been transformed from a forgotten piece of farm equipment into a gathering place. On crisp fall evenings, its warming flame naturally drew the three friends together.
There is something timeless about gathering around a fire. For generations, people have sat around flames to share stories, exchange ideas, laugh, remember, and simply enjoy one another’s company. Around this particular fire, the conversation among three friends gradually became something more.
The warmth of the fire seemed to mirror the warmth of their friendship. Stories were told, memories were shared, ideas began to take shape—and before long, some of those ideas began turning into songs.
That was the spark that became Country Fox Music.
“Three Amigos and a Flame” celebrates more than the beginning of a music project. It celebrates friendship, the outdoors, and those unexpected moments when something lasting grows from something wonderfully simple: three friends, a South Georgia evening, and a flame.
LYRICS
We pulled them chairs up by the fire’s glow,
Old boots in the dirt where the night winds blow,
Maker’s Mark sittin’ on the tailgate scar,
Over the years, we’ve come this far.
Three old amigos with a past to tell,
Some days were heaven, some days were hell,
Now we just watch those embers rise,
Like pieces of truth in a midnight sky.
Every flame’s a memory burnin’ in the night,
Some were hard-earned lessons, some were golden light,
Through the highs and the hurt, we were never alone,
There was a higher hand guidin’ every road we roamed.
Yeah, we’re three old souls with a story to claim,
Still got a little fire in that old heart flame.
We’ve seen deals fall through, seen fortunes made,
Felt the weight of promises and the price we paid,
Raised our kids, bowed our heads in prayer,
Found out real quick who was always there.
Now we’re writin’ songs just to pass the time,
Turnin’ life we lived into rhythm and rhyme,
Ain’t chasin’ fame, just chasin’ grace,
With a little more peace in this slower pace.
We ain’t done yet, got a few more lines,
Couple more laughs and a little more time,
If tomorrow comes, we’ll raise that glass again,
Thank the Lord for where we’ve been.
Every flame’s a testimony flickerin’ in time,
Of mercy and forgiveness in this life of mine,
Through the storms and the scars, through the joy and the pain,
It was Jesus keepin’ steady that eternal flame.
Yeah, we’re three old amigos and we proudly proclaim—
It was Him who kept alive this fire and flame.
So we’ll sit right here till the embers fade,
With a little more truth and a little less afraid,
Raise that glass to the life we’ve known…
Three amigos… and a fire still burnin’ on.
